ABOUT
"David Lynch pls dm me."
A dreamy kind of guy with his head in the clouds, even as he bent over his work. Donzelle was a gemcutter and avid Twin Peaks fan who met his wife, Belladonna, through the fandom, where they exchanged zines and fanfic via email and snail mail alike. His beauty and sweet demeanor led to him being a well-loved guy by those who knew him, but it didn't save him from being at the wrong place at the wrong time, and he was subsequently murdered by the mob for seeing a crime he shouldn't have.
PERSONALITY
Donzelle had a tendency to be spacy, lost in thought more often than not and often
finding himself with little to say for himself. But he still found joy in small things
that required a shocking amount of focus, from watching (and subsequently pirating
copies of) movies from the library to decorating shells for his pet hermit crab to
developing his craft of jewelry making. It was difficult to tell precisely what he
wanted or what he was thinking, but if asked, he rarely felt the need to lie.
The long quiet periods he spent in between speech were not empty, however, as he would
sometimes have entire paragraphs (or pages) worth of thoughts at the ready once he was
truly ready to say something, which led to spirited back-and-forth email correspondence
with Belladonna in the time before they got together, and a fairly confident ADHD
diagnosis from his psychiatrist. He also had a tendency to dwell on things, taking years
at a time to get over old crushes, particularly the one on his mentor, Raimund Lochner.
Still, once he found it in his heart to move on, he did so with enthusiasm. He loved his
wife dearly and would have been very excited to see his twin sons, had he not been cut
down prematurely.
APPEARANCE
An Italian man standing at 6’0'' with a lean build and a face similar to youths of antiquity. He wears a belt and two sets of gold anklets adorned with red cabochons, and his bolero is pinned with two wheel pins.

BACKGROUND
PAST
Donzelle was raised in Livorno by a pair of loving parents, and in general had a pretty
happy childhood. He rarely had cause to be lonely, and was well-loved and cared for. But
his father's best friend, Raimund, was his favorite person of all, despite being a
cantankerous old bastard who enjoyed the company of very few. Donzelle considered
himself very lucky to be one of those few, and would spend as much time with Raimund as
he could, eventually taking it upon himself to learn the same craft.
At some point, the exact date of which he couldn't quite pin down, Donzelle developed
something of a crush on Raimund. Between multiple (unsuccessful) attempts at confessing
this crush, and years of work (only partially unsuccessful) at becoming as irresistible
and attractive as he could, he did his best to attract the attention of his mentor, but
he'd always be a kind of son figure, and as he grew up, it sank in more and more how
obvious it was that this would never change.
Friendship was a happy distraction, as was a taste for mystery and drama in his favorite
media. Twin Peaks began airing in his mid-late 20's, and he avidly jumped into early
fandom activity to meet like-minded fans, where he met Belladonna. The two of them would
exchange theories, character analysis, and fanfics, becoming closer even as he moved
away from Italy to spend some time in America. But by the time he returned, she was
waiting for him.
Three years of marriage passed as quickly as could be, happy and affectionate, until
Donzelle happened upon a crime in progress. Whether he would have reported or not was
something nobody ever found out, as he was killed on the spot, forcing his
heavily-pregnant wife to go into witness protection. Belladonna, now Rughetta, fled to
Naples, heartbroken and now alone.

PRESENT
Donzelle's absence weighs heavily on his family even now, and the suddenness of his death means that his parents (and Raimund) never really found out what happened.
RELATIONSHIPS
A second father and a professional mentor, but Donzelle would have plucked an eye from his own head if it meant Raimund could be something more. Donzelle was one of only two people Raimund seemed ready to tolerate more than absolutely necessary, and the rarity of that affection was, in his eyes, uniquely beautiful. For years, starting in childhood and going on well into his 20's, he did everything he could to express his love, but it only ever fell on deaf ears and an affectionate, familial pat on the head.
Best friends met through transformative works turned lovers. Bella sent him her fics and he would gush about his theories and analyses, and the two of them found a powerful bond of shared interests and values. After his brief stint of living in America, he moved back to Italy where the two of them married. He adored her and would dote on her at every opportunity, and she in turn loved and cared for him in a way that he'd never really experienced before.
Attempted murder normally makes for a rocky foundation for a friendship, especially after only knowing her as "the mean lady from Rome who runs the film society," but after the dust cleared, Donzelle found that he could trust Giada as closely as anyone else on earth.
